18th Annual STUDENT ART EXHIBIT, May 5 – May 20, 2017

The Student Art Exhibit, first held in 1999, features fine art created by students in the local community. The exhibit provides students an opportunity to display creative work from the classroom in a public place that honors their work as an effective path to learning and knowledge for all. The exhibit promotes the appreciation and importance of fine art in schools and aims to demonstrate to students the experience needed to work as art professionals or pursue post-secondary degrees in the fine arts. We encourage all of our students to participate in the exhibit and we thank our educators, parents, guardians and community members who support their creative interests.

GROUP & SOLO GALLERY EXHIBITION OPPORTUNITIES:

Exhibition opportunities include solo exhibitions, two-person shows, and group shows. Selected artists will participate in a Northville Art House sponsored exhibition. (The Art House currently sponsors nine to eleven exhibits a year, both juried and invitational.)  Upon review, the Northville Art House reserves the right to select all works exhibited at the Art House Gallery.  Once scheduled, the Art House provides the exhibiting artist(s) with publicity, postcards, hangs/installs the exhibit, handles  the sale of work, and provides an opening reception. The Art House charges a 35% commission on all sales. The duration of Art House exhibits is usually three to four weeks.

To submit work for consideration, please complete the Artist Application for Solo or Group Exhibition. The Exhibition Committee reviews art submissions approximately twice a year, in June and November, and will contact you as promptly as possible with their decision, but be advised that Art House exhibits are usually booked over a year in advance.

ART HOUSE EMERGING ARTIST WALL EXHIBITION OPPORTUNITIES:

The mission of the Northville Art House is simple:  we want to bring the best of the arts to our community through exhibits and education.  One way we do that is through our Emerging Artist Wall.

The Northville Art House offers an exhibition wall, measuring 8’ x 8’, for emerging artists, or artists without significant exhibition experience, to gain the experience of showing their 2D work in a gallery setting. All artwork is required to be appropriately framed and properly wired or wrapped, ready-to-hang canvas.  (No saw tooth hangers.)  This exhibition wall also provides emerging artists with an opportunity to sell their work, therefore any included work is encouraged, but not required, to be for sale. The Art House charges a 35% commission on all sales. The duration of Emerging Artist exhibits is usually four weeks, but can run for up to eight weeks. Email us at exhibits@northvillearthouse.org with additional questions.
