Summer Art Camps are designed for young artists.  Morning camps run from 9:30 am – 12:00 pm, Monday – Thursday; Afternoon camps run from 1:00 – 3:30 pm. Monday – Thursday. Member fee for the week is $120, non member fee is $132. (Additional Material fee to instructor the first day of camp. Please look at our brochure for more information on ages, dates and camp description.)

Mindful Drawing & Painting 1 day workshops

Each session, students will be given Mindfulness awareness techniques to learn, such as Mindful breathing, Mindful body awareness, mindful listening, ect. These practices all students to become more aware of their environment, how they are feeling and how they react to certain things. This also allows the students to become focused and centered on a task using shape and design to crate their own masterpieces. We will create a variety of artworks using watercolors, pencils, clay and yarn which could include collages, mandala creations, landscapes, still life drawings, and zen doodle art.

Register for one or all! Each class is $24 with a membership or $28 without a membership. There is an additional $10 material fee for each class that must be given to the instructor. Sundays: May 13th; May 27th; & Sunday June 3rd from 1 – 3 pm. Summer Session: Wednesdays: July 18th; July 25th; August 1st; August 15th; August 22nd.

Painting with Parkinson’s

Instructor Sasha Roberts-Levi

Artist and Educational Therapist, Sasha Roberts-Levi brings the spirit that everyone is born creative and can learn to draw or paint or express their creativity to her instruction. If you want to learn how to paint with acrylics and you have Parkinson’s then this class is for you. Sasha provided personalized instruction based on your skill level and creative goals. We will explore color theory and paint mixing and techniques that allow you to complete a painting in a few sessions.   High-quality art materials are provided to create vibrant clarity of color. Students with no or little prior drawing or painting experience are welcome. Overriding all else, there is respect for each individual and an empathetic understanding of the path being traveled by both those with Parkinson’s and those who care for them.

Wednesdays, May 23rd – June 13th from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm; Member fee of $80; Non member fee of $85 (An Additional $20 material fee do to Sasha on the first day of class.)

Anatomy for Artists with Amy Forster

This class is designed for teens 16+ with parent approval and adults.

This week long intensive workshop is a must for any artist who is hoping to better their life drawing skills. It is recommended that you are already familiar with basic life drawing as this is not a beginner class. We will be looking at, discussing and simplifying the entire bone structure which is what establishes an armature for muscle and fles to sit upon. After two days of focusing on the bone structure, we will move into the muscle structure and learn what makes each person unique. Live models will be present daily so students can put this new-found knowledge to the test after each mini-lecture. The instructor will utilize the skeleton, completed anatomical drawings. handouts books and many, many drawing demonstrations to share her love of the figure.

Space is limited to 10 students; August 6th – 10th; Monday – Friday from 9:30 – 4:00 pm; Member fee of $425; Non member fee of $475 including the model fee (a supply list will be emailed upon request)

The Northville Art house classes and workshops run daily from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm. We pride ourselves in offering small class sizes for both our 6 week classes and workshops, because of this we ask that all students pre-register. Walk-in and last minute registrations may not be accommodated. Pre-registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis and is required to guarantee supplies. Registration forms and full “tuition” payment must be received before the first class.
Classes require at least three students enrolled in order to run or they will be cancelled. The Northville Art House reserves the right to cancel any class for any reason. In this event, students will receive a full refund. The Northville Art House does not prorate classes. A 50% refund will be given to any student who cancels their registration before the first class. After the first class, no refund will be given. Please note that some classes have an additional materials fee. These fees are payable to the instructor. Class prices are listed for members (M) and non-members (NM). Registration online November 25th or in person starts November 28th for 2018 Winter/Spring 1 classes.
