Arts and Acts showcases a variety of family-friend activities and live entertainment “Acts” to make for a unique visitor experience. Current schedule is as follows. Check back for new programs and updates.
3 pm – 8 pm | Northville Art House Chalk Walk | Info Tent at Northville Art House
The chalk walk invites artists of all ages to transform the sidewalk into a checkered pattern of color and imagination while visitors view and experience a chalk art at their feet. Register on-site. $5 for one bag/box of dry chalk in assorted colors. Participants may bring their own dry or water-based chalk, brushes, and water. This a family-friendly event with no monetary awards. Spaces limited.

Inclusion Gallery is a sensory friendly interactive experience for individuals with diverse abilities. Activities include: A Short on Words activity provided by Preservation Dental where writers of all ages share a short story or poetry inspired by a photograph. Northville District Library “Masterpiece Painting” exhibition.

Exhibition gallery features two exhibitions: Wayfarer: Plein Air Paintings by Alex Gilford highlights the work of Detroit artist Alex Gilford depicting Lake Huron & Lake Erie Watersheds, Uinta-Wasatch Cache National Forest, Appalachian Forest, Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, and the Detroit River.
A Day in the Park: Images of Michigan State Parks showcases work by 28 artists depicting the natural beauty of Michigan State Parks and Huron-Clinton MetroParks. Visitors select their favorite A Day in the Park artwork through the Visitors’ Choice Awards.

Detroit Institute of the Arts staff and trained volunteers lead a family-friendly make and take arts-based activity and art enrichment program to festival visitors. No registration needed.
3 pm – 8 pm | Orin Jewelers Melting Ice Block Contest | Outside the Northville Art House
Visitors select a time the “Art Loves You” heart-shaped- ice block will melt and release the necklace frozen inside. Guess the closest time and win the necklace courtesy of Orin Jewelers!
