April 4 – June 10: Northville Art House Spring Classes & Workshops

Visual art training provides individuals (Ages 5 and up) the opportunity to experiment, learn, and develop skills in the areas of painting, drawing, printmaking, hand-sculpture, photography, fiber arts, graphic design, mixed-media and performance arts.

June 3 – June 30: Hometown Artist Series: Healing Arts: Rana Awdish, MD & Friends

Rana Awdish, a pulmonary and critical care physician and resident of Northville, shares her creative work, along with a few friends, influenced by her experiences as a caregiver as well as a patient of a critical illness.

Friday, June 17, 5 – 8 pm: LIVE @ 5, Reception for Hometown Artist Series

The Live @ 5 series of events feature art exhibitions and gallery talks, live cultural entertainment, and collaborations with local establishments. All events start at 5 pm and require tickets.

June 17 – June 19: Arts and Acts Festival

Showcases the contemporary art, handicraft work, and unique creations through the Art in the Sun Juried Art Fair. Visitors enjoy art and family-friendly activities such as the Northville Art House Chalk Festival and annual Short on Words: A Poetry and Short Story Event.

June 18 – The Tenth Year – Ninth Edition of Short on Words 

Author’s Brunch for Short On Words invites young authors (Under 17) and adult authors (Over 18) to choose any of 10 featured photos to write 1500 words or less about in the form of a short story or poem. Deadline is Friday, April 22. Author Reception is Saturday, June 18 during Arts & Acts Festival.

June 20 – August 19: Northville Art House Summer Camps

Offer youth and adults creative opportunities to try a new medium, develop as artist, and expand their art portfolio. Led by Art House instructors, the camps run in morning and afternoon sessions with limited capacity. 

July 21 – 24 & July 30 – Aug 20: City of Northville: Plein-Air Paint Out & Exhibition

Artists, competing for awards, create works of art throughout town to be exhibited at the Northville Art House.

August 30 – September 24: West of Center: Juried All-Media Exhibition

Invited artists present two- & three-dimensional representational and non-representational artworks in any media to this annual exhibition. Juror: Sergio de Giusti, sculptor

Saturday, September 17, 10 am – 2 pm: Painting with Paws

Held during Northville’s Heritage Festival, Painting with Paws is an exciting creative experience where pet owners bring their dog to the Northville Art House to have an artist transform a print of their dog’s paw into a completed work of art.

October 1 – 29: OPENING UP: Detroit Society of Women Painters & Sculptors

The Art House strives to develop and foster a rich environment of artistic, creative, and cultural activity by opening up programs for individuals and groups. This exhibition highlights the DSWPS, one of the oldest self-sustaining women’s art organizations in the U.S. Reception: Friday, October 7, 5 – 8 pm

Saturday, October 22, 5 -8 pm: LIVE @ 5: Art Crawl

Guests meet artists, listen to live music, engage in interactive art displays, and enjoy drinks and light fare as they stroll to neighboring Northville venues in your Halloween costumes. 

November 11 – December 17: Small Works: Juried All-Media Exhibition; Juror: Exhibition Committee

Showcases compelling 2D and 3D artworks on a diminutive scale in any media. All works are required to be limited to 16 inches in any direction, including any frame and be for sale.  Reception: Friday, November 11, 5 – 8 pm:
