Class: Learn to Weave with your own Loom
Dates:  Fridays, October 30 – November 20 | Time:  1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Instructor: Eric Schillinger
Ages: 15+
Fee: 4 weeks; (M) $85 ; (NM) $92; Students will need to have their own loom and purchase their own supplies. In this class, students will learn how to warp the loom to weave a wonderful scarf in yarns which they have chosen themselves. In addition, they will learn the structure of simple weave fabric and why it is foundational to all other weave structures. The class will be taught on a Rigid Heddle Loom, which is light weight, portable and simple to set up. Students will have time to set up and weave on a Rigid Heddle loom in class and to practice at home in-between weekly sessions.
In the first class students will make a scarf which will require 220 yards of yard. The type of yarn (wool, cotton, rayon, silk, polyester etc.) is up to the student but needs to be multiplied yarn; wool is good for winter and makes a great Christmas gift. Also needed is a good pair of scissors, a heddle hook and warping post. The heddle hook and warping post will come with the loom.

Email Eric at ejs@me.com for more information on purchasing a rigid heddle loom if needed.
