Title of Class: Adult Beginning Watercolor Online
Day: Mondays | 4-Week Session  Time: 1 – 2:30 pm
Age of Students: 15-101

Students Learn the basics of watercolor and have fun at the same time! This class is designed for those who want to learn the basics of watercolor. Students will learn how to paint wet on wet, wet on dry, combo, washes and various painting techniques such as layering. Instructions for joining and material suggestions will be emailed individually after registering.

Materials: Students purchase materials. Arches block watercolor paper, cold or hot press 140lb 7”x10” block or Strathmore 400 series 140lb 5.5” x 8.5” cold press watercolor paper (12 sheets), Watercolor brushes: sizes 6 & 12 round, a ½” and a 1” flat brush. Watercolors paints: Student Grade i.e., Reeves brand, or Prang, Artist Grade paints: Windsor & Newton set of 12 or 14 colors in cake form okay. Paper toweling, 2 containers for water i.e., mason jars, pencil, ruler, masking tape or blue painters tape, few Q-tips, salt, small sponge, masking fluid/aka Frisket, clear wax crayon/or white crayon, plastic wrap.

Title of Class: Adult Beginning Watercolor II Online
Day: Wednesdays | 4-Week Session  Time: 1 – 2:30 pm
Age of Students: 17+

This class is for those students who’ve already taken a beginner’s course and would like to continue practicing their skills as a watercolor artist. Focus will be on composition, sketching, harmony of elements, and some color theory and mixing. Instructions for joining and material suggestions will be emailed individually after registering. 

Materials: Students should already have at least the following if not please purchase what you need – Arches block watercolor paper, cold or hot press 140lb 7”x10” block or Strathmore 400 series 140lb 5.5” x 8.5” cold press watercolor paper (12 sheets), Watercolor brushes: sizes 6 & 12 round, a ½” and a 1” flat brush. Title of Class: The Fine Art of Paper Cutting: Asian and European Themed 
Day: Thursdays & Fridays | 2-Day Workshop Time: 10:30am – 12:30pm
Age of Students: 17+

Students will explore the Asian and European style of paper cutting. Focusing on how Asian peoples (Chinese and Japanese) and European peoples (Ukrainian, Polish and German) created their paper cuts. Each Session is the same but with a focus on a different design, so students can begin this course at any Session or sign up for multiple Sessions. Gain knowledge and understanding of the historical overview of the culture, the origin of paper cutting, materials used, why they were created. Create your own paper cut design with the knowledge you gain! 

Materials: Can be purchased online at Blick Art Supply or Hobby Lobby, Michaels or craft store. Xacto knife and extra blades, or a craft knife and extra blades, 4 or 5 sheets of copy paper, a small container to hold paper chads, scissors, ruler, pencil, cutting mat, and Strathmore 50lb paper 8″x10″ or equivalent size, no smaller than 5″x7″. I understand if you may not have the Strathmore paper, you can use cardstock paper (but not too thick 300gsm card stock).
