Young Artist Juried Art Fair
The Northville Art House presented its third annual Young Artist Juried Art Fair, at The First Presbyterian Church of Northville, 200 E. Main Street.
Over 30 young artists, ranging in grades 2 – 12, showcased their diverse talents and sold their original artwork during this one day indoor fair. Featured work included acrylic & watercolor paintings, illustrations, jewelry, mixed media, fiber art, sculpture and more.
Music was performed by the Northville Strings Youth Orchestra and Michigan troubadour Neil Woodward.
The Northville Art House shines a spotlight on the imagination, art, talent and cultural diversity of artists throughout the region when the annual Arts and Acts Festival returned for the seventh consecutive year in historic downtown Northville. The Festival included the 28th annual juried fine art show Art in the Sun, featuring over 70 talented artists; the Sandbox Play Festival produced by Tipping Point Theatre; the Short on Words Literary Contest; musical entertainment featuring some of metro Detroit’s top musicians; children’s activities; the 3rd annual Northville Art House Chalk Festival; and a large variety of food and drink.
Arts and Acts brings together the community to celebrate the local arts. With the exception of the Sandbox Play Festival, and a recommended donation for the chalk festival, Arts and Acts is a free event. It is also a major fundraiser for the Northville Art House. The funds raised bring quality art exhibits and art education to Northville and the surrounding communities.

Arts and Acts, our biggest fundraiser, consisted of the Art in the Sun Fine Arts Festival, Short on Words – A Literary Event, Reel Michigan – A Michigan Film Festival, Tipping Point Theater’s Sandbox Play Festival, live music, and children’s activities. The Northville Art House Chalk Festival was back for its second year and had over 80 young artists participate! Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers for making Arts and Acts 2015 a success.
An afternoon filled with art projects, caricatures, face painting, poetry, great food, and the fun of watching working artists in our studio! Thanks again to Brown Dog Creamery, Amyzing Faces and Fun, Donald Keyes, Melanie Zwegers, and all the volunteers that came out to support the Northville Art House!
Thank you to everyone who attended. Click here for the Members’ Meeting Presentation!
Thank you so much to all who participated in our fundraising event. It was a wonderful success and raised some much-needed funds that will support the ongoing activities and programs at the Art House. It featured a silent auction of artist-donated chairs, local wine tastings and hors d’oeuvres, and was a festive evening of enjoying wine and art while supporting a great cause! Thank you to the Northville Winery and Brewing Company for such a wonderful venue and to all the artists who so generously donated their artistic chairs for the auction. We appreciate your support.
