Artist Opportunities

The Northville Art House presents juried, invitational and open call exhibitions exhibitions in the Exhibition Gallery and Emerging Artist Wall throughout the year. 

An Exhibition Committee, made up of artists, art instructors, staff and community leaders, plans and reviews applications approximately twice a year, in June and November. All exhibitions are usually booked over a year in advance.

Artists please read and follow the Terms and Conditions with Presentation Standards for all exhibitions.

November 1 – 30, 2019 – SMALL WORKS: Juried All-Media Exhibition

This open juried exhibition to showcase contemporary artworks on a diminutive scale in all types of media including painting, drawing, ceramics, metalwork, photography, sculpture, mixed media and more. All works are required to be limited to 12 inches in any direction. All works must be for sale.

UPDATE: The work is 12 inches but the frame for 2D work may have a maximum size of 16 inches.

December 6 – 7, 2019 – HOLIDAY MARKET

The Holiday Market will be a vibrant and diverse indoor artists market located in downtown Northville for the holiday season. The Northville Art House is  looking to offer unique, handmade items by 15 Michigan and US artists over two days, December 6 and 7. Work is juried to ensure quality, variety and originality. All work is to be for sale.

Market Hours: December 6, 12 pm – 8:30 pm & December 7, 10 am – 4 pm

February 6 – 29, 2020 – BLACK & WHITE: Juried All-Media Exhibition

This exhibition will showcase the power and range of monochromatic colors through works that comprise of only blacks, grays and whites.

Juror: Donn Angel Pérez  – About the Juror 

Eligibility: Artists, 18 and over, may submit a maximum of 3 works of art created in any media, except video, within the last 5 years, and not previously exhibited at the Art House. Submissions are open to the artists’ interpretation as long as the artwork consists entirely of black, gray and white values. No other color is allowed. The maximum size of all artwork including the frame is 54” in any direction.

EXHIBITION GALLERY: Solo, Two-Person and Group Exhibitions

The Northville Art House offers a floorplan of 780 sq. ft. / 110 running ft. for solo, two-person, and group exhibitions. Each exhibition runs three to four weeks and opens on the first Friday of the month with a public reception from 5:30 – 8:30 pm with presentations at 7 pm.

EMERGING ARTIST WALL: Emerging Artists Exhibitions

The Emerging Artist Wall, measuring 8’ x 8’, offers emerging artists of all ages, or artists without significant exhibition experience, to gain the experience of showing their 2D work in a gallery setting. Each exhibition runs seven to eight weeks and opens on the first Friday of the month with a public reception from 5:30 – 8:30 pm with gallery talks at 7 pm.
