2024 CALLS for JURIED EXHIBITIONS with DEADLINES

Artists please read and follow the Terms and Conditions and Art Exhibition and Sales Agreement with recommended Presentation Standards for all exhibitions. While our exhibitions encourage artists to freely to express themselves, the Northville Art House is a community gallery and artwork that includes significant elements of sexually explicit imagery, overtly political or religious content, graphic depiction of violence and hatred, or profanity may not be considered for inclusion.


August 2 – 23, 2024 | OUR PLACES: Plein-Air Exhibition

Outdoor places reveal extraordinary colors, textures, and design. Some places are far away, while others are outside your back door. A favorite place connects you with nature and can bring you happiness, creativity, and comfort. Artists are invited to paint their favorite outdoor places at any time and at a location of choice between May 21 – July 21 with up to three artworks to be included in the exhibition.

Deadline: Sunday, June 3o at 11:59 PM EST or until maximum 40 capacity reached.


September 3 – 28, 2024 | OFF-CENTER: Art that Pushes Boundaries

 Established in 2008, Off-Center, formerly West of Center, presents 2D and 3D works of art in a variety of media. Artists are encouraged to push the boundaries of art imagery, presenting works that inspire thought, provoke emotion, and induce awe. From the bizarre and emotive to the fantastic and inspirational, this exhibition seeks submissions from artists around the country that defy expectation, provoke strong responses, or challenge social norms to surprise and thrill our visitors. 

Deadline: Monday, July 15 at 11:59 PM EST.


October 5 – November 2, 2024 | REST IN PIECES: The Mysterious and The Macabre

Rest in Pieces seeks to create a genuinely eerie atmosphere, presenting 2D and 3D works of art that reveal the mysterious, macabre, and magical. Artists are invited to explore supernatural themes, such as apparitions, haunted sites, and even death, through a wide range of styles, from gothic to surreal. Subject matter can be disturbing and scary as well as beautiful and thought-provoking.

Deadline: Monday, August 5 at 11:59 PM EST.


November 15 – December 14, 2024 |  SMALL WORKS

Small Works showcases 2D and 3D works of art on a diminutive scale, 16 inches or less, in a variety of media. All works are required to be for sale as this exhibition is an invitation for visitors to find original art to love and to give as gifts during holiday season.

Deadline: Monday, September 9, 11:59 PM EST.


OPEN CALLS without DEADLINES

EXHIBITION GALLERY: Solo, Two- and Multi-Person Exhibitions

The Northville Art House offers a floorplan of 780 sq. ft. / 110 running ft. for solo, two-person, and multi-person (3 – 8) exhibitions. Each exhibition typically runs about four weeks and opens with a public reception. This opportunity is available throughout the year and is typically booked over a year in advance. An Exhibition Committee, made up of artists, art instructors, staff and community leaders, plans and reviews the applications.  If accepted, all artists are required to have a current memberships with the Art House before the exhibition. For two-person and multiple-person exhibitions, each artist should apply separately and list the other participating artist(s).


TUSCAN CAFÉ: Solo Exhibition

The Northville Art House in partnership with Tuscan Cafe, located at 141 E Main St in Downtown Northville, offers three wall spaces for solo exhibitions, right side 20″ x 3″, left side 10″ x 3″, and front 10″ x 6″ (l x h). Each exhibition, part of the Downtown Artist Series, typically runs about eight – ten weeks. There is no reception. Artists wishing to exhibit their work at the Tuscan Café should apply to the Exhibition Gallery. The committee will review and, if accepted, will determine location, either at the café or at the Art House. If accepted, the artist is required to have a current membership with the Art House before the exhibition.


EXHIBITION GALLERY: Group Affiliated Exhibitions

The Northville Art House offers a floorplan of 780 sq. ft. / 110 running ft. for groups, clubs, organizations, and societies with member artists. Each exhibition typically runs about four weeks and opens with a public reception. This opportunity is available throughout the year and is typically booked over a year in advance. An Exhibition Committee, made up of artists, art instructors, staff and community leaders, plans and reviews the applications. If accepted, at least one artist must be a member of the Art House and an exhibition fee paid before the exhibition. EMERGING ARTIST WALL: Emerging Artists Exhibitions

The Emerging Artist Wall, measuring 8’ x 8’, offers artists residing in Michigan and Northern Ohio, without significant exhibition experience to gain exposure of their 2D work. Each exhibition, part of the Emerging Artist Series, typically runs four weeks simultaneously with the exhibition gallery and opens with a public reception. This opportunity is typically booked 6-months in advance. If accepted, the artist is required to become a member of the Art House before the exhibition.
