Rest in Pieces The Mysterious and The Macabre

Rest in Pieces features over 40 works that reveal the mysterious, macabre, and magical. In this juried exhibition, 30 artists explore supernatural themes, such as apparitions, haunted sites, and even death, through paintings, drawings, sculptures, photography, collage and mixed media. The subject matter is both disturbing and scary as well as beautiful and thought-provoking.

Join us for the opening night on Saturday, October 5, 4 – 8 pm with awards presentation 6:00 pm with exhibition juror and Art House Executive Director Shannon Karol. Free to attend.

ABOUT THE JUROR – Shannon Karol

 

Shannon Karol, Northville Art House Executive Director, has over 18 years of museum experience, designing tours, and public programs that encourage visitors of all ages to discover connections with the artworks on view. Most recently, she served as the Director of Museum Education and Community Engagement at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. She has also held positions at the Speed Art Museum in Louisville, KY, the Cincinnati Art Museum, and the Dallas Museum of Art. At the Speed Art Museum, she was the Director of Education and tour leader for Supernatural America: The Paranormal in American Art.

A graduate of Northville High School, Shannon has a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History and English from the University of Michigan, and a Master’s Degree in Art History from the University of Iowa.
