MARCHELLE BROTZ – LIVONIA, MICHIGAN
Born and raised in Michigan, Marchelle is an active member of the Great Lakes Pastel Society and the Colored Pencil Society of America. She finds great comfort in creating artwork and the journey of discovery that it takes her on. She approaches each piece with joy and variety. Depending on the environment, a choice of colored pencils, pastels, acrylic and watercolor paint or a combination is used.
SARAH HILLMAN – LANSING, MICHIGAN
Born and raised in South Africa, Sarah’s relationship with her father, a geographer and nature lover, influenced her passion for the natural world. As an artist, Sarah uses ceramics and beach pebbles to express that love, creating delicate plants and flowers in clay. She also uses Great Lakes rocks to represent the natural world and stories about daily life. As a mother and foster mother, Sarah has found that watercolor is the best medium for illustrating her children’s stories. She illustrates children’s stories and paints portraits of people from around the world.
