Student Art Exhibition

First held in 1999, the exhibit features fine art created by young artists in the local community. The exhibit provides students an opportunity to display creative work in a public place that celebrates their work. The exhibit promotes the appreciation and importance of fine art in schools and aims to demonstrate to students the experience needed to work as art professionals or pursue post-secondary degrees in the fine arts.

April 15 – 25: The 20th Annual Student Art Exhibition

Eligibility: All students at Northville High School in Grades 9 – 12 are eligible to participate in the exhibition.

Jurors: Northville Art House Exhibition Committee

Prizes: $100+ in cash awards and prizes awards for 1st Place: $50, 2nd Place: $25, 3rd Place: $10 and Honorable Mention Awards.

Reception: Thursday, April 16, 5:30 – 7:30 PM with Awards Presentation at 6:30 PM. See Exhibition Poster

Entry Deadline: All entries MUST be submitted by Sunday, March 15, 11:59 PM EST.

Print Entry Form: Artists may print and submit the entry form and payment by mail or in person.


  • All original 2D and 3D work is accepted except video or electronic.
  • Work does not have to be created at school.
  • Maximize size for all work including frame is 36 inches in all dimensions
  • Work must be created in last 4 years and not previously exhibited at the Art House.

Entry Procedures for Grades: 9 – 11

  • Complete contact and artwork information
  • Can submit/upload up to 2 works of art
  • Label artwork image LastName-Title.jpg ex. Smith-JumpingRope.jpg
  • 1 work will be selected by the jurors
  • Optional: Complete artist statement/art description section
  • Entry Fee: $3 for inclusion in the show

  • Up to 2 works will be selected by the jurors
  • Required: Complete artist statement/art description section
  • Entry fee: $5 for inclusion in the show

Notification of Acceptance: Artists will be notified by email on Friday, March 20

Art Sales: A 35% commission, artist receives 65%, will be charged on all art for sale.

Artwork Presentation:

  • Work is required to be framed and/or properly matted
  • Work is required to have a secure hanging wire. Sawtooth hangers not allowed.
  • Label artwork with name and title on back/bottom of work
  • A temporary label will be supplied to affix to the artwork.

Artwork Delivery:

  • Wednesday, April 1, 12 – 5 pm
  • Thursday, April 2, 12 – 5 pm
  • Artwork may be delivered the week prior.

Artwork Pick-up:

  • Sunday, April 26, 12 – 2 pm
  • Tuesday, April 28, 12 – 5 pm
  • Artwork not picked up within 30 days after the exhibition closes becomes the property of the Northville Art House.
