NPS Student Art Month

NPS Student Art Month

This month-long celebration highlights visual art education for grades K – 12 in Northville Public Schools. Exhibitions include Northville High School IB Art ExhibitionNorthville High School Student Art Exhibition and Northville Public Schools PTA Reflections. The annual Northville Art House Arts Scholarship is also awarded to a Northville High School graduate who plans to obtain an art degree at a college or university.

This final exhibition is the culmination of the Northville High School’s International Baccalaureate (IB) Art experience. The students  present a selection of their best work in the form of a curated final show, and defend and articulate their purpose and intention in a written rationale.

In the program, students developed problem-solving skills and proficiency as artists by exploring and experimenting in a variety of contemporary practices and media. Learn more the NHS IB Program.

“The visual arts are an integral part of everyday life, permeating all levels of human creativity, expression, communication and understanding (”

Reception: Tuesday, March 31, 6 – 8 pm

First held in 1999, the exhibit features fine art created by young artists in the local community. The exhibit provides students an opportunity to display creative work in a public place that celebrates their work. The exhibit promotes the appreciation and importance of fine art in schools and aims to demonstrate to students the experience needed to work as art professionals or pursue post-secondary degrees in the fine arts. The exhibition is currently open to Northville High School students.
