Wayfarer: Plein Air Paintings of Alex Gilford

Wayfarer will consist of over 30 plein air oil paintings by Detroit artist Alex Gilford. The exhibition will feature a selection of new paintings from his forthcoming artist-in-residency with Friends of the Detroit River. 10% of each painting sale will support the organization.

“By packing-up my easel and painting in parks and wildlife refuges, I utilize them in a minimally invasive way. Through the practice of art as an outdoor activity, it is a goal of mine to strengthen the relationship between the arts and the natural and cultural heritage that these places preserve.”
