Northville Art House Art Scholarship

The Northville Art House supports the young artists in the community through a number of opportunities including education programs, art fairs, art exhibitions, and annual scholarships. In 2024, we are offering a scholarship opportunity in support of high school seniors who plan to pursue the arts, in any form, in their continuing education.

THE NORTHVILLE ART HOUSE SCHOLARSHIP

Attention high school seniors! The Northville Art House wants to support you and your artistic journey.

If you are planning to attend a college/university or vocational/trade school in the fall and plan to include the arts in some form (visual arts, music, dance, theater, etc.) in your continuing education, please consider applying for the Northville Art House Scholarship.

This scholarship opportunity is open to Northville High School, surrounding area high school and certified home-school seniors.

The Northville Art House Scholarship Committee will consider any portfolios submitted. For more information, download the (2025 packet coming in early 2025)

2024 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT

The Northville Art House is excited to announce the recipient of the 2024 Northville Art House Scholarship is Elena Czarnecki of Northville High School.

Our scholarship committee was very impressed by Elena’s dedication to volunteering and giving back to her community. She has volunteered for the Special Olympics and mentored athletes on the Unified basketball and soccer teams. She is also a National Honor Society Member, a National Merit Commended Scholar, and was named Michigan Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Academic All-State.  Elena has demonstrated great success as a student, an athlete, and most importantly—at least to the Art House—as an artist.

Elena’s portfolio of artworks, several of which were part of her exhibition at the Art House in 2023 as part of Northville High School’s International Baccalaureate class, is stunning. She is a skilled drawer, and her architectural renderings—especially of the Living and Learning Center—bode well for her future career plans as an architect. In her application, Elena wrote: “I am determined to apply my career to empowering communities by increasing towns’ resiliency while also preserving the beauty of their traditional architecture. I am passionate about utilizing my career to contribute to my community and build a better world for generations to come.”

Elena’s name will be included on a plaque at the Art House that recognizes our past scholarship recipients. On behalf of the Art House’s staff and Board of Directors, congratulations, Elena! We’re very excited to see what the future holds for you.
