The Live @ 5 series of events features art exhibitions and gallery talks, live cultural entertainment, and collaborations with local businesses, organizations, and restaurants. All events held 5 – 8 pm.
The City of Northville is a lively town with historic buildings, Victorian-era architecture, intriguing landmarks, and scenic parks. Artists competing for awards have been invited to paint and draw en plein-air (outdoors) at locations throughout the City of Northville and Historic Downtown in the City of Northville: Plein-Air Paint Out from July 22-24. The resulting work will be exhibited at the Northville Art House opening with this Live @ 5 reception on July 30 and running through August 20. The public is invited to celebrate the artists and their creative imagery depicting the City of Northville.
Includes: appetizers, two drinks at the cash bar, live music and an exhibition award presentation.
“DownRiver Dan, a modest name for an unassuming young player on the Motor City Blues scene. Like the industrial area he calls home, he’s served his apprenticeship working the jams and graduated to regular gigs in the tough blues bars of Detroit.
With his second CD of all original material “Here To This” Dan Kalicki and his band of Billy’s, Reyna on drums, and Salisbury on bass, Dan has given his songs a modern middle class edge. He’s not laying down his mojo hand or bragging about the back door man but with a calm inter-strength and burning guitar licks Dan takes on modern blues conflicts with an air of confidence earned in the streets.”
