The Northville Art House welcomes the public to the 12th annual, 3-day Arts and Acts Festival featuring over 75 fine artisans and crafters in the Art in the Sun Juried Art Fair as well as the annual Short on Words and Chalk Festival events. Free to the public, June 17 – 19, Friday, 3 – 8 pm, Saturday, 10 am – 8 pm, & Sunday, 10 am – 3 pm. The Chalk Festival requires registration fee.
The 2022 Arts and Acts Festival will be held on N Wing Street (between W. Main and Dunlap) and W. Main (Between N. Wing and Center). Downtown Northville’s Social District, The Twist, is currently adjacent to the festival with a number of restaurants with expanded outdoor dining, food trucks and pods, cocktails to go, and shopping. Several free parking areas are located with within walking distance of the festival in historic Downtown Northville.

Live acts will be performed by solo musicians strolling along the festival path and acoustic groups in the Downtown Northville’s Social District. Current schedule (subject to change):

Held on S. Center St. between Main St and Mary Alexander Ct, the Chalk Festival features artists transforming the pavement into a checkered pattern of color and imagination, while visitors view the chalk art at their feet, and then vote online for their favorite! Click to register!
Short on Words highlights the art of literature by inviting writers of all ages to share their original short stories and poetry inspired by a photograph or theme. Located at the Northville Art House, off of nearby 215 W. Cady St., aspiring poets and short story writers can enjoy readings, light refreshments, and music.
Families will discover great food and drink at food trucks, pods, and local restaurants located inside Downtown Northville’s Social District.

The Arts and Acts Festival will follow all current COVID-19 City of Northville, State of Michigan, and CDC guidelines with face coverings recommended to be worn by unvaccinated visitors for the protection of everyone. Visitors are asked to keep a safe social distance from others, avoid standing in crowded areas, and wash their hands frequently. Hand washing stations and sanitizer will be available throughout the festival.
Northville Square, located at 133 W Main St, east of the festival, is the designated evacuation center in case of a tornado and extreme weather.
The Northville Art House, a 501(c)3 comprehensive art facility, elevates the community’s visual art, music, and literary experience through the organization’s largest fundraiser, the Arts and Acts Festival, held June 17 – 19 in Downtown Northville.
Proceeds support the mission to cultivate the Arts through creative experiences and educational programs in the community.
