Summer Gallery Hours: July 1 – August 31:  9:30 am – 3:30 pm

July 1 at 10 am: Fall Education REGISTRATION OPENS!

Our Education programs, led by Art House instructors, provide all individuals, ages 3 and up, and levels the opportunity to experiment, learn, and develop skills in various media. Summer Camps Classes & Workshops registration continues for classes through August 31. Registration is for Preschool (3-5), Youth/Teens (5-16) and Teen/Adult Classes (Ages 16+).


Holiday Break: July 4 – July 7 | Art House closed 

July 8 – July 19, 2024 | Teen Takeover Ages 13 – 19

Teenagers, ages 13 – 19,  are invited to showcase their artwork at Northville Art House  and share it with friends and family for two weeks in July! Adding this experience to their portfolio is a great achievement and can boost their artistic profile. Plus, they’ll have the opportunity to take pictures of your pieces hanging in a professional gallery setting, which is a fantastic way to document and share artwork. Now – August: Downtown Artist SeriesTuscan Café, 141 E Main St, Downtown Northville

The Downtown Artist Series has a rotating presentation of work by established and emerging artists inside the Tuscan Café available for purchase through the Art House online Artisan Store.

Currently on view are the collaged portrait illustrations of Laura Cavanaugh through August 7, as well as the the mixed media collages of Gayle Sanchirico and framed photographs of K.K. Sparks through August 21.


Wednesday, July 24, 6:30 – 7:30 pm | From Page to Palette Book Club at the Library

Join the Northville Art House and the Northville District Library for an art-inspired book club. Meeting bi-monthly on Wednesdays, this book club will focus on fiction inspired by art history’s most famous (and infamous) figures. Participants will see the story come to life through presentations and art-making activities inspired by each month’s selection. Book Selection: Drawing Home by Jamie Brenner – Registration is Open>>


Friday, August 2, 5 – 8 pm: Live at Five

Join us for Live at Five featuring live music, light fare, a cash bar and over 25 artists and 75 artworks in the Our Places: Plein-Air Exhibition and Emerging Artist Series. Cost is $5.

August 2 – August 23: Our Places: Plein-Air Exhibition

Outdoor places reveal extraordinary colors, textures, and design. Some places are far away, while others are outside your back door. A favorite place connects you with nature and can bring you happiness, creativity, and comfort. Artists are invited to paint their favorite outdoor places  at a location of their choice between May 21 – July 21 with the resulting artworks to be included in the exhibition. Reception: Friday, August 2, 5 – 8 pm Artist enter here>>


Saturday, August 10, 12 pm – 2 pm: Art & Nature Family Celebration

The Northville Art House, 215 W. Cady, Northville, invites you to join us for an afternoon of nature-themed art activities inspired by Our Places: Plein Air Exhibition.

Saturday, August 24, 11 am – 3 pm: Painting with Paws: Unleash Your Dogs Creativity

Unleash your dog’s creativity! Painting with Paws is an exciting experience where pet owners bring their dog to the Northville Art House at 215 W. Cady St in Northville to have an artist transform a print of their dog’s paw into a work of art. Your $25 provides one matted watercolor painting to take home. Pet vendors and raffles planned. September 3 – 28: Off-Center: Art That Pushes Boundaries (formerly West of Center).

Off-Center will present 2D and 3D works of art in a variety of media. Artists are encouraged to push the boundaries of art imagery, presenting works that inspire thought, provoke emotion, and induce awe. Friday, September 6, 5 – 8 pm: Live at Five

Saturday, September 28, 2 pm: Gallery Talk: Art That Pushes Boundaries

Exhibition Juror Rehema C. Barber will provide a gallery talk on the exhibition Off-Center: Art That Pushes Boundaries which encourages artists to push the boundaries of art imagery, presenting works that inspire thought, provoke emotion, and induce awe. From the bizarre and emotive to the fantastic and inspirational, Off-Center strives to surprise and thrill visitors with contemporary artworks in a variety of media.


October 5, 4 – 8 pm: If Stones Could Talk:Living History Cemetery Tour

In partnership with The Northville Historical Society, dedicated tour guides escort small groups within the Oakwood Cemetery, as actors share the storied pasts of those residing in the first cemetery in Northville. Attendees can also enjoy drinks at the “Boo Bar” and the exhibition Rest in Pieces: The Mysterious and Macabre. October 5 – November 2: Rest in Pieces: The Mysterious and Macabre

Rest in Pieces seeks to create a genuinely eerie atmosphere, presenting 2D and 3D works of art that reveal the mysterious, macabre, and magical. Artists are invited to explore supernatural themes, such as apparitions, haunted sites, and even death, through a wide range of styles, from gothic to surreal.

Saturday, October 19, 1 pm | Gallery Talk: The Mysterious & The Macabre in Art History 

For this gallery talk, exhibition juror, and Northville Art House Executive Director Shannon Karol will discuss the supernatural and mysterious in art history and the artworks included in the Rest in Pieces: The Mysterious & The Macabre exhibition on view in the gallery. The subject matter for this exhibition, and throughout art history, can be disturbing and scary as well as beautiful and thought-provoking.

Thanksgiving Day Break: November 28 – December 1: Art House Closed

November 15 – December 14: Small Works

Small Works showcases over 125 works on a diminutive scale by artists around the country. Limited to 16 inches in any direction, the artwork typically ranges from 2D collage, paintings, photography, and traditional prints to 3D ceramics, fused glass, mixed media works, stoneware, and metalwork. Saturday, November 23, 1 pm | Gallery Talk: The Benefits of Slow Looking in the Gallery

At this gallery talk with Director Shannon Karol, guests view the Small Works all-media exhibition in the gallery featuring over 150 works. With so many works on view, the experience may be overwhelming. Slow looking is an approach based on the idea that, if we really want to get to know a work of art, we need to spend time with it. It’s about you and the artwork, allowing yourself time to make your own discoveries and form a more personal connection with it.


Saturday, December 14: 11 – 3 pm: There’s Snow Place Like Northville Family Day

Attention parents, grandparents, kids, families and friends, you are invited to our 2nd annual There’s Snow Place Like Northville Family Day where the Art House transforms into a winter wonderland providing fun for the whole family. Combining art projects, holiday treats, a photo booth, and more, this event will prepare your family to “deck the halls” and celebrate the season.
