Using the popular “splicing” technique, students will cut apart two different pre-loved garments (like hoodies, sweatshirts, or graphic tees) and reconstruct them—merging contrasting colors, graphics, and textures into a unified designer piece. Students will explore garment structural design, learn machine sewing, and use specialized hand-stitching techniques like Japanese Sashiko and Boro patchwork.
