Youth Classes and Workshops for Ages 5 – 17, offer the opportunity to experiment, learn, and develop art skills in small classroom sizes. Visual art instruction covers painting, drawing, printmaking, hand-sculpture, photography, graphic design, crafts, and mixed-media. Programs are led by Art House instructors and offered in daily or weekly sessions in the classroom. Classes limited to 10-12 students.

REFUND / CANCELLATION POLICY
A refund will be issued minus a 10% non-refundable deposit on ALL classes and workshops when cancelled 48 hours or more before the first class or workshop starts. Students who wish to cancel less than 48 hours before the first day of class are not eligible for a refund or credit.

In this workshop, students will create a handwoven tapestry for a wall hanging. They’ll learn to thread a warp on a cardboard loom, weave various patterns, and finish the edges. Looms are provided; students bring their own yarn—one skein of light (#3) or medium-weight (#4) yarn for the warp, plus two or more skeins of medium (#4), bulky (#5), or super bulky (#6) yarn for the weft (heavier weights speed up the process). Students may recycle yarn they own and should consider color combinations and textures. Full yarn guidelines will be provided by the instructor prior to the start of class.

Materials Included
Originally, sheep shears were used to cut freehand designs out of tree bark and leather. Wycinanki were pasted on furniture or roof beams as decoration, hung in windows, and given as gifts. We will use decorative papers to create colorful works of art. Students will have the option to personalize the instructor’s samples (no two are exactly alike) or create your own design. Your finished art will be ready to frame!

Join us for a fun, hands-on workshop where young designers will learn to read a commercial pattern and sew their own garments! Guided by a professional fashion designer, teens will choose from a basic skirt, top, or sweater while gaining essential sewing skills like pattern reading, fabric layout, cutting techniques, and machine stitching.
By the end of the day, each student will complete a finished garment and leave with a deeper understanding of fashion design and sewing. Perfect for beginners and advanced students alike!

Materials included.
In this two-hour workshop, participants will create unique cyanotype images using a camera-less photography technique invented in 1842. By placing flat objects on paper coated with an iron salt solution, exposing them to UV light, and rinsing with water, they’ll produce stunning white and Prussian blue prints. Participants can also enhance their images with light watercolor washes.
