Do you have a T-shirt that fits you perfectly? In this workshop, young designers will learn the industry secret to creating a pattern from a garment they already love! Students will bring their favorite fitting T-shirt to use as a template. We will teach them how to trace and draft a professional sewing pattern from it. Then, they will use that pattern to cut and sew a brand-new custom tee, learning to work with stretch fabrics and professional finishing techniques along the way.
Supplies: Bring one T-shirt that fits well (to use as a guide). We provide a variety of knit materials! However, if your student has a specific color or print in mind, they are welcome to bring 1 yard of knit (stretchy) fabric to customize their look.

Get ready for the warm weather by designing your own custom summer skirt! In this workshop, young designers will learn the fundamentals of garment construction by creating a classic elastic-waist gathered skirt. Perfect for both beginners and experienced stitchers, this class covers how to measure for a custom fit, sew straight seams, create a casing for elastic, and hem a garment professionally. Students can personalize their designs with pockets, unique trims, or contrasting waistbands.
Bonus: Have extra fabric? Students can use their scraps to make a matching skirt for a favorite doll or a hair accessory!
Custom Option: If your designer has a specific style in mind, they are welcome to bring 1–1.5 yards of woven cotton fabric to create their unique look.
