Summer Art Camps

Summer Art Camps offer youth and teens creative opportunities to try a new medium, develop as artist, and expand their art portfolio. Led by Art House instructors, the camps start on June 15 and run in weekly morning and afternoon sessions through the mid-August. Space is limited so register early.

Thank  you to our friends at The Kids’ Table who sponsored ten need-based scholarships for summer camps at the Art House. If the cost of a camp makes it difficult for your family to attend, The Kids Tables may be able to help! Applications closed for 2026.

SUMMER CAMP CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY

A refund will be issued minus a 10% non-refundable deposit on ALL camps when cancelled 2 weeks or more before the first day of camp. Students who wish to cancel less than 2 weeks before the first day of camp are not eligible for a refund or credit. 

Note: This cancellation policy is different than classes and workshops.

Color Burst for ages 6-8 – Waitlist Only

Materials Included 

Explore bright and bold artwork using neon paint, metallic markers, glitter pencils, and colorful clay. Campers will also try experimental materials like squeegee painting, found object printing, and painting with bubbles and squirt bottles.

Comic Creations for ages 9-12 – Waitlist Only

Unleash your imagination by creating your own comic strips! Campers will explore storytelling, character creation, and expressive drawing and visual humor while developing confidence and individuality! 

Pollinators 101 for ages 6-8 – Waitlist Only

Join the Plymouth Pollinators to learn more about the important role that pollinators like bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and more play in supporting our ecosystem. Each day will include a story, art activities, and outdoor exploration on the Art House grounds. 

Avatar Art Lab for ages 6-8 – Waitlist Only

Join our fun and imaginative week of creation while exploring drawing, storytelling and colorful art techniques. Campers will create characters that reflect their personalities and interests while building confidence and creativity! 

3D Modeling in Blender for ages 11-15

Students must bring a laptop with Blender software already installed, and a three-button mouse (with scroll wheel) and mouse pad

Have you ever wondered how artists create the worlds in your favorite video games and 3D animated movies?

This 5-day class teaches the fundamentals of 3D modeling using Blender, the same free software used by many professional designers and artists. We will learn how to model objects from simple shapes, add colors and materials, set up lighting, and render our own 3D diorama.

No prior experience is required, just creativity and a willingness to learn. Students must bring a laptop with Blender software already installed, and a three-button mouse (with scroll wheel) and mouse pad to camp each day.

Northville Children’s Chorale for ages 5-11

Materials Included 

The Northville Art House is partnering with the Northville Chorale to present the Northville Children‘s Chorale. This class is designed to be a fun and encouraging choir experience and will introduce students to a variety of vocal techniques and songs. Participants will also have an opportunity to practice writing songs together as a group. The class will culminate with a short performance in Town Square as part of the Northville Art House Art Market on August 15 at 5:30 pm.

Fashion Design, Art, & Upcycle for ages 10-16 – Waitlist Only

Instructor: Mila Pershyna

Materials Included 

Join us for a creative week of fashion guided by a professional designer! This hands-on workshop empowers young designers to express their style through sewing, upcycling, and a special focus on textile art and fabric painting. 

Participants can choose their own creative path: 

  • Create from Scratch: Sew a new garment using patterns and fabrics (provided).
  • Upcycle: Repurpose old clothing into trendy new looks. 
  • Paint & Customize: Bring canvas shoes, denim jackets, jeans, or tote bags to transform into unique wearable art. 

Students will learn essential industry skills, including pattern reading, cutting, sewing techniques, and fabric manipulation. By the end of the workshop, students will leave with their own completed garment, accessory, and the skills to continue designing at home. Let your creativity shine in this inspiring summer camp! 

While all basic supplies, fabrics, and paints are provided, students are encouraged to bring their own items for specific upcycling or painting projects. Recommended items for customization include denim jackets, jeans, skirts, or canvas tote bags. For those interested in shoe art, please bring light-colored canvas shoes (white or cream work best) to ensure your designs stand out.
