CALLS FOR ENTRY with DEADLINES


September 5 – 27: Hines’ Lines

Hines’ Lines, which complements the Northville Victorian Festival, a celebration of the Northville’s history and charm, seeks artworks inspired by the contributions of American road pioneer Edward N. Hines (1870–1938). Hines, originally an owner of a printing business in Detroit, MI, became a pioneering American figure in road development. Read more in the guidelines.

Juror: TheNorthville Art House Exhibition Committee made up of artists, art instructors, staff, and community leaders, will serve as jurors for the Small Works exhibition. Each artist will have at least one art work accepted. Jury process is for spatial limitations and 3 non-monetary awards. No cash awards. People’s Choice Awards held throughout with top 5 artists to receive awards following exhibition.

Reception: Friday, September 5, 5 – 8 pm with Gallery Presentation at 6 pm

October 3 – November 1, 2025: Off Center: Art That Pushes Boundaries

Off-Center invites artists from around the country to push the boundaries of art imagery with works that inspire thought, provoke emotion, and induce awe. From the bizarre and emotive to the fantastic and inspirational, this exhibition seeks submissions that defy expectation, provoke strong responses, or challenge social norms to surprise and thrill our visitors. 

Juror: Dean Rogers is a fantasy and fine artist and instructor from Howell, MI. He has mastered colored pencil, earning him 3 International awards and the prestigious Signature Status by the Colored Pencil Society of America. Bio | Website

Reception: Friday, October 10, 5 – 8 pm with Awards Presentation at 6 pm (1st-4th: $350, $200, $100 & $50; Honorable Mentions)

November 14 – December 18 : Small Works: All-Media Exhibition

Small Works seeks 2D and 3D works of art on a diminutive scale, 16 inches or less including the frame, in a variety of media. All works are required to be for sale as this exhibition is an invitation for visitors to find original art to love and to give as gifts during holiday season. Artwork typically ranges from 2D collage, drawings, paintings, photography, and traditional prints to 3D ceramics, assemblage, mixed media, stoneware, and metalwork.

Reception: Friday, November 14, 5 – 8 pm with Awards Presentation at 6 pm (1st-4th: $300, $200, $100 & $50; Honorable Mentions)

2025 Emerging Artist Series: Teenage Artists Only (Ages 13 – 19)

The 2025 Emerging Artist Series will feature the artwork of teenage artists, ages 13 – 19, residing in Southeast Michigan. The exhibition is an opportunity for artists to gain exposure for their 2D work own the Emerging Artist Wall. There are 4 exhibitions available, approx. 4  weeks long, each will open with a public reception. Applications will be juried by the Northville Art House Exhibition Committee. An Art House membership is NOT required. Free to apply.

Deadline: July 21 for exhibition to be held August 1 – August 22 2025.

TUSCAN CAFÉ: Solo Exhibition

The Northville Art House in partnership with Tuscan Cafe, located at 141 E Main St in Downtown Northville, offers three wall spaces for solo exhibitions of 10 – 18 small to medium 2D works, up to 48″. The walls measure: right side 20″ x 3″, left side 10″ x 3″, and front 10″ x 6″ (l x h). Each exhibition, part of the Downtown Artist Series, typically runs about eight – ten weeks. There is no reception. The café generously provides the space while the installation of artwork and sales transactions are handled by Art House staff. An Art House membership is NOT required.


NEW!!! NORTHVILLE DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OFFICES: Solo Exhibition

The Northville Art House in partnership with the Northville DDA, located at 215 W Main St in Downtown Northville, offers multiple wall spaces for a solo exhibition of 10 – 18 large 2D artworks, 24″ and up. Northville themed work encouraged but not required. The space typically receives 300 – 500 visitors a month for community meetings. Each exhibition will typically run about three months. There is no reception. The DDA generously provides the space while the installation of artwork and sales transactions are handled by the Art House. An Art House membership is NOT required.


EXHIBITION GALLERY: Solo, Two- and Multi-Person (3 – 8) Exhibitions

The Northville Art House offers a floorplan of 780 sq. ft. / 110 running ft. for solo, two-person, and multi-person (3 – 8) exhibitions. Each exhibition typically runs about four weeks and opens with a public reception. This opportunity is available throughout the year and is typically booked over a year in advance. An Exhibition Committee, made up of artists, art instructors, staff and community leaders, plans and reviews the applications. For two-person and multiple-person exhibitions, each artist should apply separately and list the other participating artist(s). If accepted, at least one artist must be a member of the Art House.


EXHIBITION GALLERY: Group/Society/Club Affiliated Exhibitions –  (9+ artists)

The Northville Art House offers a floorplan of 780 sq. ft. / 110 running ft. for groups, clubs, organizations, and societies with member artists. Each exhibition typically runs about four weeks and opens with a public reception. This opportunity is available throughout the year and is typically booked over a year in advance. An Exhibition Committee, made up of artists, art instructors, staff and community leaders, plans and reviews the applications. If accepted, at least one artist must be a member of the Art House and an exhibition fee paid before the exhibition. Artists please read and follow the Terms and Conditions and Art Exhibition and Sales Agreement with recommended Presentation Standards for all exhibitions. While our exhibitions encourage artists to freely to express themselves, the Northville Art House is a community gallery and artwork that includes significant elements of sexually explicit imagery, overtly political or religious content, graphic depiction of violence and hatred, or profanity may not be considered for inclusion.
